Umbhumbulosu shield

In Zulu tradition, white shields were reserved for senior regiments and older, more experienced warriors, while younger and less experienced warriors carried black shields.
 
The Umbhumbulosu shield, introduced by King Shaka, was a smaller, more maneuverable shield compared to the larger Amabutho shield. Each regiment had a distinct color scheme, with white shields indicating a senior regiment.
